In the late summer of 2022, the life of Durron James Allen Degroot, a 23-year-old male resident of Hammond, Indiana, was tragically cut short. On August 6, 2022, Degroot was fatally shot. The circumstances of his death led the Lake County Coroner's office to rule it a homicide, with the official cause of death being a gunshot wound.
