In the summer of 1992, a violent act shattered the peace of a neighborhood in Elkhart, Indiana. On the evening of July 28th, police were dispatched to a residence at 833 W. Garfield Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a male, Jamie Harris, lying in the front yard with a gunshot wound.
