Francis Benefiel, aged 66, and his wife Helen Benefiel, aged 65, were tragically murdered on August 3, 1993, in Marion, Indiana. The couple was shot to death in their home by Charles E. Barker, the former boyfriend of their granddaughter, Candice Benefiel. Barker had been watching the Benefiel home for several hours before breaking in. During the break-in, a struggle ensued between Barker and Candice, prompting Francis to intervene. Barker shot Francis through the heart during the altercation....Read More
