Death by Force

Jay Thomas Severson, a 27-year-old male, was a counselor at Wiley Hall at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. On October 16, 1996, he was tragically shot and killed by an 18-year-old student, Jarrod Allan Eskew, who lived on his floor. The incident stemmed from Severson reporting Eskew to campus police after witnessing him smoking cocaine in his dorm room. When authorities arrived, Eskew had already fled, but police searched his room and car, discovering cocaine.
