In the summer of 2006, a wave of violence crested over Indianapolis, and in its tragic wake, it claimed the life of Gregory Howard Bryant. A 44-year-old Caucasian man, Bryant was discovered in the place he should have felt safest—his own backyard on the near east side of the city.
