On March 8, 2010, in Wabash, Indiana, 27-year-old Jennifer Parrett was fatally shot by her boyfriend, 30-year-old Ryan Hunt, in an apparent murder-suicide. The incident occurred at their residence on Courtland Avenue. Parrett was in the process of backing her car out of the driveway with their two young sons, aged 3 and 4, when Hunt approached the vehicle and fired a .410 bore shotgun through the driver's-side window, striking her under the left armpit.
