On the evening of May 14, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Amarillo Police Department responded to multiple reports of gunfire at the Axiom at Bell apartment complex, located at 1550 Bell Street in Amarillo, Texas. Upon arrival, officers discovered 46-year-old Gerald Abdu-Daoud Henry with apparent gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of three individuals in connection with Henry's death.
On May 15, authorities apprehended 39-year-old Kevin Sanders in Amarillo on a murder charge. That same day, 38-year-old Terrence Thomas was arrested in Lubbock after being stopped for speeding; he was also charged with murder.
A week later, on May 22, a third suspect, 38-year-old Kisha Evette Grimes of Amarillo, was arrested in Pampa on a homicide warrant related to Henry's death. The Amarillo Police Department's Homicide Unit continues to investigate the case.
