Jennifer Gayle Anderson Farquer, a 41-year-old female, passed away in Shelbyville, Indiana, on August 31, 2018. A lifetime resident of the city, she was a mother to five children and a grandmother to four. Known for her love of the outdoors and butterflies, she cherished spending time with her family and friends. She had attended Shelbyville High School and worked as a housekeeper.
Her life was cut short by a single gunshot wound to the head.
In connection with her death, authorities in Shelbyville charged a local man, Derick Nigh, with murder. According to court documents, Nigh informed investigators that he and Farquer had been arguing, and he admitted to hitting her. He also told police that he had injected her with drugs the night before her death. Nigh, however, denied shooting Farquer. A gun that was found in Nigh's possession was reported to have been stolen from his father the day prior to the murder.
