In the early evening of July 11, 2013, Anthony Green Jr., a 24-year-old African American male, was fatally shot in Gary, Indiana. The incident occurred outside the Chicago Style Polish hot dog restaurant he managed, where he was sitting with his two young nieces. An unknown assailant approached and shot Green in the head, causing his death at the scene around 6 p.m. His nieces were unharmed.
