In the quiet town of Osceola, Indiana, a tragedy unfolded on June 10, 2014, ending the life of 56-year-old Terry A. Vonblon. Terry, a female, was found deceased in her home on West Rogers Street from a gunshot wound. Her death was officially ruled a homicide by the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office.
The investigation conducted by the County Metro Homicide Unit concluded that Terry was the victim of a murder-suicide perpetrated by her husband, Mel Vonblon, who was 61 at the time.
Authorities found no evidence to suggest the involvement of any other individuals in the incident. Mel Vonblon also died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Terry and Mel had been married since January 18, 1975. They were grandparents who were affectionately known as 'Grampy and Grammy' and were described as loving each other and their grandchildren very much. Terry was a member of the World Harvest Church in Elkhart. The couple is survived by their two daughters and five grandchildren. Due to the nature of the incident, with the sole suspect being deceased, there were no arrests or subsequent trial.
