Robert Vilella, a 23-year-old resident of Hammond, Indiana, tragically lost his life on June 28, 2015. Vilella was shot multiple times on the evening of June 28, 2015, in the 5500 block of Beall Avenue in Hammond. The incident occurred after a minor traffic accident in which a parked car was bumped by another vehicle. Although the drivers settled the incident without filing a police report, Vilella approached the area afterward and was subsequently shot.
