In December of 2015, a 34-year-old man from Indianapolis named Jason Bryant passed away. His death occurred on December 10th of that year.
The circumstances leading to his death began when officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department initiated a pursuit of a truck they later determined had been stolen. The driver, identified as Jason Bryant, fled from the police.
The chase ended when Bryant abandoned the vehicle and went into a residence located in the 2100 block of Conrad Avenue.
Officers surrounded the home and, after securing a search warrant, made entry. Inside, they found Bryant in a back bedroom holding a firearm. Two of the officers discharged their weapons, striking and killing him. It was later noted that Bryant did not fire his own gun.
