Richard Allen Green, a 21-year-old aspiring musician from Jacksonville, Florida, tragically lost his life on July 9, 2017. Green, who was also known by his stage names Lil Richard, Richy Rich, and Billion, was found dead inside a car at the Highlander Apartments on Monaco Drive, off Dunn Avenue. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office reported that Green had been shot during a planned robbery that took place during a drug deal.
The investigation revealed that Green had met with Patrick Steadman, a 19-year-old, for the drug deal. During the encounter, Steadman attempted to rob Green, which led to the fatal shooting. Steadman fled the scene immediately after the incident.
In the aftermath of Green's death, the Jacksonville police arrested Patrick Steadman and charged him with armed robbery, murder, and possession of a weapon by a convicted delinquent adult. Cameron McIntyre, also 19, was arrested in Daytona Beach on charges of murder and attempted armed robbery. McIntyre was found to have planned the robbery with Steadman and was present during the shooting. Additionally, Ashanti Rodgers, another 19-year-old, was arrested and charged with murder and attempted armed robbery. Rodgers was accused of driving Steadman and McIntyre to and from the scene, fully aware of their intentions to rob Green.
