Darnell Dues, aged 30, was shot and killed on October 28, 2017, in Jacksonville, Florida. The incident occurred in the Moncrief area near West 29th and Stuart Street, where Dues and another man, Dorian Brown Sr., were shot multiple times in what has been described as a drive-by shooting. Both men were fathers, and they were found at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds before being transported to the hospital, where they later died.
Two years after the shooting, Jacksonville police arrested 26-year-old DonJuan Powell Jr. in connection with the double homicide. Evidence left at the scene led to his identification, and he now faces two counts of second-degree murder, along with charges for possession of a firearm by a felon. Authorities believe Powell may be involved in several other crimes, and the investigation remains active.
