On June 29, 2017, Henry Martinez, a 29-year-old, was found dead in Jacksonville, Florida. Martinez was the victim of a fatal shooting, adding to the series of violent incidents that occurred in Jacksonville that year. The crime took place during a period of rising homicide rates in the city, which saw a significant number of violent deaths throughout 2017.
