On June 9, 2016, 32-year-old Aaron Cogdell was found dead from gunshot wounds outside his home in the Lackawanna neighborhood on Jacksonville's Westside. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m., when reports of gunfire led authorities to the 2700 block of Fleming Street. Cogdell, a father of eight, was tragically shot in his front doorway.
