In the spring of 2016, a trip to drop off his daughter turned into a fatal encounter for Derrick D. Walker. On the evening of April 15th in Gary, Indiana, the 26-year-old man was forcibly removed from his vehicle by two assailants. The altercation quickly escalated as the men began to beat Walker with a pistol.
