In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Gary, Indiana, the life of 26-year-old David Watson was tragically cut short on September 1, 2019. A hail of bullets in the 4300 block of East 10th Avenue left the young man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the Methodist Hospital Northlake Campus, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead at 10:51 p.m. The location of the shooting was less than a mile from his own home, a place that should have been a sanctuary.
