In the summer of 2016, a heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded in an apartment on the northeast side of Indianapolis, leaving a community in shock and a family shattered. On a July morning, police conducted a welfare check at the Lodge apartments on Fall Creek Road, where they made a grim discovery. Inside one of the units, three people had been shot and killed in what was later determined to be a triple homicide.
