In the winter of 2016, the life of Devin Lamont White, a 22-year-old Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in Indianapolis, Indiana. On the evening of December 6th, he was discovered unresponsive in the middle of the street in the 2900 block of North Warman Avenue. White was suffering from at least one gunshot wound, and despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding White's death hinted at a larger, more
complex series of events. Earlier that same evening, another individual arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds. While this person was reported to be in stable condition, authorities have stated their belief that the two shootings are connected. The exact nature of this connection, however, has remained a lingering question in the ongoing investigation.
Following his death, Devin White's passing was formally acknowledged, and services were held to celebrate his life. A Celebration of Life Service took place on December 14, 2016, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, with interment at New Crown Cemetery.
To date, the investigation into Devin White's homicide has not led to any publicly announced arrests or the naming of any suspects. The case remains open, and law enforcement continues to seek information from the public that might bring a resolution to the senseless killing of the young man. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in providing answers and delivering justice for Devin White and his family.
