On the evening of September 2, 2017, police in Hammond, Indiana, were dispatched to a residence on the 7100 block of Osborne Avenue following reports of a shooting. The incident occurred during a social gathering at the home, where several individuals had assembled for a party. Among the attendees was 31-year-old Jonathan Culp, a white male from Highland, Indiana, who had graduated from Highland High School in 2004.
