Lonnie Williams, a 44-year-old Black male, was celebrating his birthday at his home in the 1000 block of Bauer Street in Hammond, Indiana, on the night of September 27, 2014. The festive occasion turned tragic when he was fatally shot. The Hammond Police Department was called to the scene, and the Lake County Coroner's Office subsequently pronounced him dead.
