A woman returning to her home in the 1400 block of East New York Street found a man, later identified as 30-year-old Mohamed S Dukuly, unconscious and suffering from what initially appeared to be severe head trauma. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to her call just before 10 p.m.
and Dukuly was rushed to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Mohamed Dukuly succumbed to his injuries the following day. His death marked a somber milestone for the city, becoming Indianapolis' 100th homicide of 2016.
