On a spring evening in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the life of Alastair C. Stephens, a 38-year-old male, was cut short by an act of violence. On May 8, 2018, police responded to a call around 9 p.m. and found Stephens critically injured in the middle of Bowser Avenue. He was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. An autopsy later confirmed that Alastair Stephens died from multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was officially ruled a homicide by the Allen County
Coroner's Office.
The investigation into the shooting revealed another victim, Terence L. Whitt, who had been shot in the leg during the same incident. Whitt managed to get to a nearby fire station for help and was subsequently transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities believe the two shootings were connected due to their proximity in both time and location. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing two individuals fleeing the area immediately after the gunshots rang out.
Despite law enforcement's efforts, including the use of a K-9 unit to track the suspects, no immediate arrests were made in the case. The Fort Wayne Police Department processed the evidence collected from the scene and interviewed witnesses in an attempt to identify those responsible for Stephens' death. However, the case grew cold, and as of the most recent available information, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been announced in connection with the murder of Alastair Stephens.
