In the late hours of a Saturday, on September 15, 2018, the life of 34-year-old Danielle Robinson was tragically cut short in her Elkhart, Indiana, home. Awaiting the arrival of her seventh child, a baby boy, Robinson was seven months pregnant when she was fatally shot.
That evening, around 11 p.m., police officers were dispatched to a residence on Morton Avenue. Inside, they discovered Robinson suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite immediate medical attention from the officers and the subsequent arrival of paramedics, Danielle Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene. Her unborn child also did not survive.
The Elkhart County Homicide Unit promptly took over the investigation into her death. In the days that followed, Robinson's grieving family pleaded with the public for any information that might lead to the person or persons responsible for this violent act. Her loved ones remembered her as a mother who deeply loved her children and was excited about the new addition to her family. They expressed their profound pain and bewilderment over why someone would target her.
