Fernanda Leon, an 18-year-old woman from Osceola, Indiana, was fatally shot on the night of January 26, 2025, in Elkhart. The incident occurred near the intersection of South 6th Street and Hively Avenue. Authorities received reports of gunfire around 11:20 p.m., and shortly after, Leon was transported to Elkhart General Hospital by private vehicle. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
