In the early morning hours of September 18, 2018, the life of 28-year-old Marquis J. Dawson was tragically cut short in East Chicago, Indiana. Dawson, a Black male, was in the 400 block of Vernon Avenue when he sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The incident occurred at approximately 12:40 a.m., shattering the quiet of the neighborhood.
