In the early evening of Saturday, February 2, 2019, the life of 31-year-old Tristan Tywan Norton Carter, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was discovered on the street in the 1000 block of Senate Avenue at approximately 8:38 p.m. having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. His death was officially ruled a homicide by the Allen County Coroner's Office, marking the first homicide in Allen County for that year.
Emergency services were called to the scene, but despite their efforts, Carter succumbed to his injuries. The Fort Wayne Police Department, in conjunction with the Allen County Prosecutor's Office and the Allen County Coroner's Office, immediately launched an investigation into the shooting. Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the murder of Tristan Carter. The case remains an open and ongoing investigation.
