On the evening of July 8, 2019, 35-year-old Elite Marlee Elliott was fatally shot at the Greenwood Apartments near Spring Street in Jeffersonville, Indiana. This incident marked the city's first homicide of the year. Two other individuals were injured during the shooting and were hospitalized.
