In the winter of 2020, the life of 34-year-old Richard Williams Jr., a Black male, was cut short in Indianapolis, Indiana. On the evening of Saturday, February 15th, officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 200 block of North Forest Avenue around 7:30 p.m. following reports of a person shot. Upon their arrival, they discovered Williams, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
