girlfriend outside his home when the fatal encounter occurred. As they walked towards her vehicle, a silver four-door Ford Fusion approached them in the alley. In a sudden act of violence, a passenger leaned out of the car's window and opened fire in their direction, striking Scott. The Michigan City Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation, dedicating themselves to bringing those responsible to justice.
Within days, their round-the-clock efforts yielded results. The first to be taken into custody was 20-year-old Christopher Deal, who was arrested on a charge of aiding, inducing, or causing murder.
