Black / African American male Joseph Prior Jr., 32, tragically lost his life on the evening of July 25, 2018, in Michigan City, Indiana. The incident unfolded on the 100 block of North Woodland Avenue, where local law enforcement officers from the Uniformed Patrol Division were dispatched following reports of a shooting. Upon arriving at the scene, first responders discovered Prior suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency personnel immediately transported him to Franciscan Health Hospital for urgent medical attention, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
