In the early morning hours of May 18, 2020, the life of 21-year-old Ronnie D. Hall, a Black male, was cut short in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Police and paramedics were dispatched to the Woodview Manor Apartments around 3:40 a.m. after receiving reports of a car crashing into one of the buildings. Upon their arrival, they discovered Hall severely injured in the driver's seat of the vehicle. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after. The vehicle had gone off Hobson Road, traversed a courtyard, and ultimately collided with an apartment building.
The investigation into Hall's death swiftly identified a suspect. A man named Anshious B.D. Aron Storey contacted the police around 4 a.m. the same day and admitted his involvement in the shooting. Law enforcement located Storey and brought him in for questioning. Following the interview, he was arrested and subsequently charged with murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of the crime.
The case proceeded to trial, and in March 2021, a jury found Anshious Storey guilty of Ronnie D. Hall's murder. The court proceedings indicated that the shooting occurred during an altercation between the two men. In April 2021, an Allen County judge sentenced Storey to 80 years in prison for his role in Hall's death.
