In the late afternoon of May 31, 2020, a trip to a Gary, Indiana, gas station turned fatal for 22-year-old Dorell Glenn Townsend Jr. Townsend, a male, was inside the convenience store with his girlfriend when a verbal altercation escalated into a deadly shooting. The incident led to the eventual conviction of one man for his murder and a plea deal for another who was present.
