On a summer evening in Speedway, Indiana, the life of 18-year-old Jayshawn Jamal Walker was tragically cut short. On June 20, 2020, officers from the Speedway Police Department were dispatched to The Legend at Speedway Apartments in the 2200 block of Sumter Street following a 911 call around 10:30 p.m. reporting a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered the young male suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
