Joette "JoJo" Malone, a 2-year-old girl from Hammond, Indiana, tragically lost her life on July 29, 2020. Joette was seated in the back seat of her mother's vehicle when she was struck by a bullet during a shooting incident at the Kennedy Crossing apartment complex. The shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m., and Joette was caught in the crossfire between two individuals who were exchanging gunfire.
