Timya Andrews, an 8-year-old girl from East Chicago, Indiana, tragically lost her life on October 22, 2020, after being struck by a stray bullet while doing her homework in her living room. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. when someone fired 16 shots from an automatic weapon outside her home. One of these bullets penetrated the walls of her house and struck her in the head. Despite being airlifted to Comer Children's Hospital in Chicago, Timya succumbed to her injuries a few days later.
