In the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 14, 2021, the life of 27-year-old Moneshia M. Edwards was tragically cut short in East Chicago, Indiana. At approximately 2:14 a.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the quiet of the 3900 block of Elm Street, prompting a police response to the area. A ShotSpotter notification indicated that two rounds had been fired.
