Michael Holmes, a 40-year-old resident of Lafayette, Indiana, was found dead in his yard at the intersection of Alder and Holly drives on January 12, 2021. His body was discovered by a passerby minutes after sunrise, who then called the police. Upon arrival, the police found Holmes with a gunshot wound and a gun lying near his body.
