On a Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis, what should have been a peaceful day was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of Demarcus Johnson. On April 18, 2021, the 24-year-old male was fatally shot in the 3200 block of Joey Way, near South Lynhurst Drive and Kentucky Avenue. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a report of a person shot just before 4 p.m. and found Johnson with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
