In the early morning hours, the sense of peace was shattered by the sound of gunfire in a parking lot on the east side of Indianapolis. When police arrived at the scene near 12th Street and Arlington Avenue just after 2:30 a.m., they discovered a man lying in the lot, having sustained apparent gunshot wounds. Medical personnel were unable to save him and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
