On the night of November 21, 2017, Cory Miller, a 28-year-old man, was shot and killed while sitting in his vehicle outside a Family Dollar store on the east side of Indianapolis, near 21st Street and Arlington Avenue. Witnesses reported that Miller was inside a Monte Carlo when a man approached and fired at him, hitting him twice. Despite efforts to save his life, Miller succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
