In the early hours of January 6, 2022, LaRon Eskew, a 44-year-old Black male, was brought to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, by a friend. He was suffering from a gunshot wound and, despite medical efforts, succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was notified of the incident when Eskew arrived at the hospital just before 2 a.m.
