Curtis Shelby, a 28-year-old resident of South Bend, Indiana, tragically lost his life on June 6, 2022, as a result of gun violence. The incident occurred near the intersection of Marshall Avenue and 33rd Street, where Shelby was found lying on the sidewalk with no signs of movement. The South Bend Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit took over the investigation, which revealed that Shelby had been shot and killed during an altercation.
