On the evening of July 30, 2024, South Bend police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 3600 block of West Sample Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 20-year-old Isaiah Walton-Davis with gunshot wounds; he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
