Kyndra Kay Swift, a 51-year-old White female, was tragically killed on July 13, 2022, in a violent home invasion in Muncie, Indiana. Known for her sense of humor and love of storytelling, Swift worked as a housekeeping supervisor. Her life was cut short in a brutal series of events that began the day before her death.
The violence started on July 12, 2022, when Devin Xavier Myers fatally shot 19-year-old Kyler Ryan Musick.
The following day, Myers and an accomplice, Daniel Jones Jr., forced their way into a home on South Liberty Street. Inside the residence were Kyndra Swift and 69-year-old Malcolm Perdue. During the armed robbery, Myers shot and killed both Swift and Perdue.
An investigation into the double homicide quickly led police to Myers. It was discovered that Myers had a history of criminal behavior and had been released from prison just a few months prior to the murders. His accomplice, Daniel Jones Jr., later testified against him, providing details of how Myers executed the victims.
Devin Xavier Myers was arrested and subsequently found guilty of three counts of murder for the deaths of Kyndra Kay Swift, Malcolm Perdue, and Kyler Ryan Musick. He was also convicted of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, criminal confinement, and obstruction of justice. For his crimes, Myers was sentenced to 251 years in prison. Daniel Jones Jr. also faced multiple charges, including two counts of murder, for his role in the home invasion.
