In the fading light of a September evening in 1985, 15-year-old Kimberly Dowell and 16-year-old Ethan Dixon, a popular Muncie couple with bright futures, drove to Westside Park. It was a familiar and comfortable spot for the teenagers, a place where they could spend some quiet time together. But the night took a horrifying turn, ending the promise of their young lives and leaving a lasting scar on the small Indiana city.
