In the late summer of 2022, the life of William Jeffrey Doup Jr., a 30-year-old male, was tragically cut short in what police have described as an isolated domestic incident. On the evening of Friday, September 2, 2022, officers from the Lake Station Police Department were dispatched to a residence located in the 2500 block of Morgan Street following a report of a gunshot victim.
Upon their arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered Mr.
Doup, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the residence. The Lake County Coroner's Office later confirmed that the cause of his death was the gunshot wounds and officially classified the manner of death as a homicide.
