In the winter of 2022, a tragedy unfolded on the near northside of Indianapolis, leaving a family grieving and a community searching for answers. On the afternoon of December 14th, in the 2300 block of Guilford Avenue, the life of 26-year-old Dazion N. Dulin, a Black male, was cut short by gunfire. The incident, which police believe was a targeted attack, ended with Dulin being discovered in the driver's seat of a truck that had crashed.
The sequence of events began to draw attention
when neighbors heard a loud noise and witnessed the truck Dulin was in collide with two parked cars before ultimately crashing into a house. When help arrived, Dulin was found to have sustained gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of bystanders who rushed to his aid, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner's Office.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department launched a homicide investigation into Dulin's death. Detectives began canvassing the area, urging residents to check any surveillance or doorbell cameras for footage that might provide clues and help identify the person or persons responsible for the shooting. In the time that has passed, authorities have continued their investigation, but no arrests have been announced, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the murder.
