In the spring of 1905, a tragic series of events unfolded in the community of Lorton, Virginia, culminating in the death of a young lawman. George A. Malcolm, a 24-year-old male, served his community not only as a deputy sheriff for Fairfax County but also as the head instructor of the Lorton Valley School. His dedication to both roles placed him at the center of a volatile situation that would ultimately cost him his life.
